Well, another month has come around already, and that means that we have to vote again as to what the preferred date of the next LAN will be. If you look to your left (on the screen, Pepper....) you will see a nice little list of dates ranging from the 5th of January to the 2nd of February.
For those of you here who have an artistic streak, I'm looking at running a competition over the next few LANs in order to see who is really good at designing banners etc.. A bunch of CDs will go to the winners.
Saturday, December 15, 2007 - Armidale LAN in 2008
As you all know, I am presently updating the A-LAN site (with the help of Wiggy), plus also re-organizing the A-LAN competition format. I have put a list of some of the ideas and proposals up in the forums in the thread below. If you feel the need to add any thoughts, please add them there.
I have also added a poll which will hopefully help us determine what the best date is for everyone for the next LAN. Please only add your vote if you know for a fact that that date suits you the most.

Thursday, January 06, 2005 - Cyberslam sponsors kickstart to new gaming competition
Hope everyone had a good christmas / new year period and have finished recovering because its time to get back into the action!
ArmidaleLAN has recieved a prize pack courtesy of CyberSlam and EA games. We shall be using these prizes to kick off a new kind of competition at the LAN, a 6-month season champeeenship which two or more rounds per lan :)
More details will be available online friday night and at the LAN on saturday.
In case you havent been following the forums, the lan is this saturday at Smith House, starting at 11am.
Hope everyones had a good (and hopefully nonviolent) festive season. But as they say, all good things come to an end, so with that in mind, its time for First Blood!
So gear up and get ready to move out, we hit Smith House on the 25th and you better be ready! At 6pm our squad will enter the dining hall and secure the perimiter. We expect plenty of hostile action which will last well into the night, as such we will provide you with plentiful field rations, including copious amounts of caffine to assure that you dont fall asleep on the job! At an unspecified time our supply convoy will arrive and reinforce the troops with more rations of pizza so that you do not fall pray to the numerous terrorists, germans, japanese, hostile aliens or the evil colonel!
This will be a serious firefight so make sure you have all your equipment present and accounted for, and in tip-top shape, your life may depend upon it!
Wednesday, October 09, 2002 - Dust off that computer...
Hey boys and girls, the date for the next lan is set. Saturday 19th of October, 2002 @ Smith House. Starting at 6pm. Hope to see you all there. By the way, please vote in the new poll (Should we have a cs comp on the 19th).

The date for the next lan is set, Saturday, September 7th. We will kick off at 5pm and head towards sunrise.
On the cards this time round are CS (will it ever die?.....), Warcraft 3, a new game called Battlefield 1942 (very cool, you will see) and of course whatever we feel like doing on sunday ;) I hope to see you all there!
Well for those that dont know, the paintball went off with a huge bang! We had a great turnout, thanks to all those who came, we ended up have 16 or 18 players. We played during the daytime and the night which was very cool. *shameless plug* Go Yellow Team!!!
Though a few of us came back with bruises, everyone seems willing to go again, so we might organise again in a couple months.
On another note, Dr Pepper, Supafishy, Colonel and myself went to last weekends TGL FRAGCON. Thumbs up to Flock and the EC Crew for another great event. We played several killer games of CS, MOHAA etc. And the Warcraft III went off, we had a full 12 player game at one stage, very brutal!
Also we are in the stages of planning our next lan which will be early august, havent decided on the final date yet, but as usual we will keep you posted!
Wednesday, July 03, 2002 - They have landmines....
If you havent heard yet, we are organising a paintball skirmish for the 13th of July, the details arent final yet so if you want more information or to have an input, head to the toilet door and leave your mark!
The boys from Tamworth are holding another LAN of the 8th of June.
Same place, same times and more prizes.
Prizes for Quake III, CS, Jedi Knight II and many others.

Dont know if any of you are interested but A few of us Tamworth ppl are going paintballing on the Sunday of the long weekend and we need more ppl to make up numbers...the more the merrier. If anyone is interested in joining us for some "CS in Reality" let me know and I'll get you the details. I need to know in the next few days so we can confirm numbers.
All participants must be over 18 btw...legal reasons.

Hello eveyone, yes I have not been on the forums for months, it's mainly because my flatmates are c#!*!'s and rocked up a huge phone bill that I in the end payed out and then disconnected the phone, and it's in their name now, and I refuse to use it! ;-) so no net access for me... At work I never have time to do much else but work, but you know what! it's my birthday on the 28th May! and i'll be 21, shit i feel all old now. Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me!!
hmm now some website site news for you mofo's, I hope to make a few interesting changes to the site at some stage with Owen, but with no net access and as Owen is busy heads down bum up studying, we really don't know a date as yetty.

i have to try out this new feature, so i will offer a service....
if you haven't already got the latest CS1.4 or DOD2 patches then while at the lan get onto http://chris to get them. i might add some other goodies too if im feeling nice ;)
As part of the V2 Rollout of the site, if you can see this than Morden has now enabled posting of news the this page via your account, you may submit anything you want, however it must be approved before it gets displayed, got questions, ask on the forums.
In case those of you that survived the wrath of Dr Pepper's evil laughter didnt catch it, or the little counter on the very front page, or the emails i sent out, or saw it on the forums, we are having a May lan ;)
It will be on Saturday, the 4th of May at Smith House in the dining hall. Starting at 6pm, cost of 10 dollars, pizza and coke supplied.
We will be having a CS comp again, this time of a different flavour, hence Dr Pepper's post below. I'd also like to thank Harvey Norman Armidale for generously donating some prizes to our cause, thanks guys!

I do plan to kick this thing of early 7:15-7:30pm! I will put a tut up on the ALAN web server about the stats and what will be counting towards your skill points so those who are there can read up on it. I will also talk people through it before hand, so please, at about 7 pm LISTEN TO ME!
Its that time of the month again (no not THAT time.....), anyway the next lan is set for next saturday, the 23rd of march! Once again at Smith House in the dining hall, cost is 10 dollars, Pizza and (maybe drinks) included.
Following the rather long winded but successful CS comp last time we will be having another one this time, hopefully it wont take as long as we've got it all worked out now =) , and maybe a DoD 2 comp, cant promise that though.

We have regular poll's and you can always find out whats going down on the forums. Some people have been experiencing difficulty with our login system, this is probably because the forums are currently a different system entirely than signing up to vote (and what will eventually be your forum account).
Hello my fury little friends, it seems that we have actually updated our news for this year! We are currently working on a script like before so news is easy to update and so generally more often.
Well that guy who drinks lots of Dr Pepper while thinking he is Homer has put together a quick video of one of our lans, actually it's number 5 but they were not released to the public. So it's 6th January 2002, hmm I seem to fail towards the end, but lets not talk about that now.

Just just a quick news item to let you all know that we are having
another ArmidaleLAN this weekend, at Smith House in the Dining Room.
Starts at 6pm. Also there will be another Counter-Strike competition. The cost as usual is 10 dollars with pizza included.
At the moment there is a poll on the newspage to decide the top two or three games we will make an effort to get everyone in apart from just CS. So if you havent already got one, make and account and vote!
On Another note, a few of us travelled to Tamworth last weekend for the TGL Fragcon 01, which was great!! Dr Pepper, Myself and Supafishy all made it to the second round of the Quake 3 tourney. And in Counter-Strike, [BCS] won the first half of its Match, but went down firing in the second half.....such is life ;) But a good time was had by all and we managed to snare a few t-shirts and posters as well ;)

Hey everyone, just letting you know the date of the next lan is Saturday, Janurary 5. There shall me much yuletide fragging ;)
On another note, i havent uploaded the new gallery because i'm in the middle of rewriting the site, we are hoping it will be ready before the lan.
Also a big thanks to Spark and Co, forgot to mention them in my post lan post :P They graciously provided us with that purple speed demon that provided much gibbage at the last lan (the 24x switch), thanks guys and thanks to Mark in particular.
In the meantime, have a merry christmas, hope your stockings are full of new games and toys (/me wants a GeForce 3 ;P ).
